Neon shades may be all the rage for the tween crew, but have you heard about neon lampshades? I hadn't either. Take a gander at this delightful renewal of a stodgy chandelier.
The whole concept here is so smart and easy. Why not paint crochety old lampshades an on-trend neon for a hip, mix-and-match eclectic effect? It instantly modernizes the old guard, and when we've moved on from neon, you've got a quick and easy change to the next big thing. It would be so darling in a girl's room, or almost any room for that matter.

Not my favorite.
Have to agree with Glowplanet on this one, it's not doing it for me either. But the concept is interesting. What about using modern neon lampshades? It might work better without all the gold tassels.
I'm not feeling it.
Me either. I checked their site and it looks better bare bulbed or at least not mixing the painted ones with the gold.
I don't like it either, I'd rather put some colored jewels if you're looking for a pop of color.
I thought the photo was the before-stodgy-guy, and we were going to get a revamped awesome one after the jump. But we didn't.
Of course, it might translate much better in real life, who knows.
That woman could make a burlap sack look good in a house. This might be the example of that, agreed, but every time one of her photos pops up I always know what house it came from. She makes an awful lot look awful good.
I like mustard and neon pink. I do not like chandelier lampshades. So I'll go halves on this. (I wonder if chandelier lampshades have the 'vibe' that they do there as they do in America? KWIM?)
Um. It just looks a bit silly.
@P_capucine, yep, chandelier lampshades are just as crappy over here in Norway as everywhere in the world. You can do modern versions, but they aren't popular.
Thats hideous quite frankly. Hey, my first negative comment...do I get a prize? :)
It would be much beter IMO if all the shades were the same color. The add-on orange and purple ribbons are klling it for me.
I think a kid might like this, but otherwise, I'd never let this kind of thing exist in my home. It's pretty hideous.
"Revive" the chandelier? Was it dead? Looks more like "Punish and humiliate the chandelier." I suppose we could also revive our grandmothers by making them wear tube tops, glitter lipstick, and leg warmers.
like the concept generally but not the specific lamp shades used. i would prefer a neon cord cover. m
This is a use of the word "delightful" with which I was unfamiliar. While I get the idea -- and think matching, bright shades on the lights could possibly look fantastic -- this execution just doesn't work, period.
It looks really silly, like the chandelier is wearing Russian party hats.
