Limited Edition Ribbon Jars

Limited Edition Ribbon Jars

As a kid, one of the best things about visiting Grandma's house (other than the swimming pool and the homemade donuts... and, er, the love) was playing with her containers of craft supplies -- everything from bags of quilting scraps to jars of buttons. Though we love these "limited edition" ribbon jars for nostalgia's sake, we're sure we could figure out something to actually do with the ribbons within.

On the first Monday of every month, ever since February 2006, the good folks at the appropriately named The Ribbon Jar create a limited set of 50 vintage jars, each packed with 14 yards of various types of gorgeous ribbon. Every month celebrates a different color or theme.

The jars sell out quickly, so all we were able to find available for sale right now is the lovely ocean-themed jar from April 2008, pictured above. But this coming Monday is the first Monday of March, so if you want to get a chance at taking home one of these sought-after collectibles, be sure to visit The Ribbon Jar. Or if you're really keen, sign up for their newsletter and get an alert directly in your inbox.
