Whether long, flowing ribbons or the variety you would win at a dog show, ribbons are a colorful and lively way to jazz up a space. If you have a collection of remnants or rewards from childhood sitting in shoe box somewhere, these examples just might inspire you to put them on the wall:

I really like that wallpaper for a small accent wall, but the rest of them just look like super cluttered dust magnets.
Haha the second picture reminds me off my childhood bedroom before my dad and I added a strip of semi-flexible trim a few inches from the ceiling that I hung all my horseback riding ribbons from.
They're fine in a gallery but, when little, I'd have pulled those ribbons down to play with them. Avoid frustration by taking kids, pets, and other real life factors into account. If you have no kids and no pets, then have a ball with fragile furnishings of dubious safety...lucky!
Really cute, I love ribbons. I bought a bunch of ribbons from Target, they were on sale - six for $0.25. I use them as a vase filler on my bookcase and it's a really cute pop of color.
@arelleb: That sounds lovely! I might copy that idea from you as I have so many nice vases but nothing to put in them....
I covered a cork board with ribbon and put it up in the kitchen. It's where we rotate our sons recent craft projects and artwork. I like that it brings a lot of color into the space.
My cat would be very excited that I dedicated an entire wall for his scratching "post."
Not that it doesn't look cool, but I just file it under "things I can't do because I have pets."
I looked at the third picture and thought, "Is this one of Hildi's concepts?" I guess it just made me think of that hideous bathroom she did on Trading Spaces with all the silk flowers stapled to every square inch of the walls.
pictures 3 and 4 would be my cats dream
