Don’t you just love it when free stuff just lands in your lap? With few second hand shopping options, we’ve had to get creative with our decorating. Never a fan of buying new, we were searching for interesting details when we decided to renovate our apartment...
Being in the right place at the right time can really yield some great finds. During a visit to our building, we spotted a huge pile of debris taking up a parking spot on the street, waiting for removal to the trash. We can’t pass a pile of debris without taking a closer look and luckily discovered that the temple next door to our building had been renovating, upgrading wooden details with longer wearing metal ones.
Buried under piles of dust, we salvaged some of the more interesting and intact pieces that had been tossed to the curb and lugged them up to our apartment. The wooden screen and brackets were given a new coat of lacquer and installed in the living room, adding just the details we’d been searching for.
