Bed and breakfast accommodations are almost synonymous with cozy country style. But there are some contemporary counterparts out there. For anyone heading down to Austin this summer, don't miss pretending to live in this contemporary bed and breakfast for a few nights!
Created by Kimber Cavendish and Vicki Faust when they identified a need for more contemporary, small-scale accommodations, Kimber Modern was designed by Burton Baldridge Architects. The result is a home that's exceptional by any standard and even more rare because it's a b&b. See many more photos and check availability (because we know you're heading down there now!) at Kimber Modern.

Looks awesome. Love this place in Houston

I walked by this last week and wondered what it was! That outdoor space is ridic.
Apparently modern design is only for the wealthy. $250/night weekdays, $295 weekends.
They had a business before this called "The Tax Trailer" that is a CPA business. If you walk up the side of the building you'll see the Airstream hoisted up on a platform in the back where they still run the CPA business. It's really cool!
Austin can be an expensive place to stay...especially in the trendy SoCo or Travis Heights area.
Beautiful! Love that pool
I've stayed there several times. Its one of my favorite places to visit in Austin!
I've stayed here as well and its by far the best place I've ever stayed! The courtyard and common area are incredible. They put out the best small plates and drinks, play relaxing music through outdoor speakers and I even met Kimber. What an accomodating and kind owner!
I too have stayed here and loved it!
I have some more pictures of the interiors on my flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47676850@N00/sets/72157627140416482/
Amazing
Looks like a causal office space or a modern museum - not a bed and breakfast. I'll pass.
4 egg chairs together is a little much even though I do adore the egg chair.
