We really love offices that aren't run-of-the-mill. We appreciate creativity and solid design, while staying true to personalities and over all functionality. Keeping the environment in mind while doing so, is certainly a plus!
Robin Luciano Beaty teamed with George Abetti to create her artists studio barn in Byfield, Massachusetts. Robin turned out to be George's right hand helper and played a heavy role in the design and actual building process of the barn.
It was their goal to not let a single piece of material go to waste, and they were completely successful in that. They wanted the build to be as green as possible, from salt soaking the wood, to using repurposed and vintage furniture throughout.
Where the work and creativity really shows: the office. Robin uses the office to tie up loose ends and her office work. The space is rustic and suburban, but still interesting and inspiring. The white walls and white furniture help the wood floors and walls to pop and really shine. It's easy to appreciate the hard work and attention to detail.
The use of old materials and tech paired with the new and modern IKEA furnishings is certainly unique. We love the rustic, worn chair paired with the IKEA desk! It's a balanced mix of old and new!
