What do Jim Morrison and Jerry Garcia have in common? If you said they're both deceased musical greats that became a cultural phenomenon, you're right, but that's not why they're here. They also both have California homes that are currently on the market!
Earlier this summer, Jim Morrison's Laurel Canyon house was put on the market for double what it last sold for back in 2001. This rustic 3 bedroom California bungalow is the outdoor lover's dream with multiple patios, a private outdoor shower, fire pit — and of course — the famed hidden shower where Mr. Morrison used to jot down his writings. Also worth noting, the home is being sold furnished, so you can own some of the impressive custom-designed pieces. Interested in living on "Love Street"? Well, this is the home where Morrison and many other now-famous musicians used to spend some very strange days!
And just recently listed, the Grateful Dead's lead guitarist last-owned home is nestled on 11 acres about thirty minutes outside San Francisco. This 7,000 plus Mediterranean-style square foot house has an artist studio, pool, organic gardens, and 300 degree views — with the Pacific Ocean being one of them. My first thought after viewing the photos, kind of shocking that this is one of the houses the bearded hippie called home. This stylish home is absolutely gorgeous; I can only dream of living in a house this grand. And if you have a sweet $4 million, this home and all its history can be yours!

Wow...not AT ALL the kind of place I pictured Jerry Garcia living in!
Yeah, definitely not where I pictured Jerry Garcia living either. Bummer.
That's actually a very safe Fire pit. It's in an enclosed courtyard, with nothing too close to it that could ignite.
Yep, count me in, I can't believe that was Jerry Garcia's house.
Jerry Garcia did not live there. He bought it for his girlfriend and their children. His place was what you're picturing in your head. ;)
i thought that was his last wives house..debra. its cold and sterile just like her...bleh. i know when he lived with mountain girl in san fran it was how youd picture it and alot like my house now lol. the girlfriend your thinking of with the uber short hair? and tried soo hard to get him healthy? i thought they had one kiddo.
so like those houses arent how they left them, seeing as they both have been dead for more than 25 yrs .
Love Jim Morrison, don't love the style in this house. Maybe it's because it's not modern to this day, but still seems a little bland considering it's supposed to be Jim Morrison's house!
Why is it a bummer that Jerry had a nice house? He was in one of the highest grossing bands ever and you'd expect him the live in a teepee in the woods or something?! I'd be willing to bet some wealthy Heads get into a bidding war over this place.
"Wait until that deal come round, don't you let that deal go down"
I got to see Jim Morrison and even touched him when he jumped off the stage in Dinner Key Auditorium after the 'concert'..but regardless of what style their homes were and who likes or doesn't like what they lived in, the point is..what fool's they were to die of drug overdoses when they could have to this day enjoyed their beautiful homes they were fortunate to buy back then.
