We've always been fans of small space solutions here on Ohdeedoh, so when we saw the Rocky crib from Jäll & Tofta, we knew we had to feature it. Although it's not available until the end of September, its super clever design is worth taking a sneak peek.
The Rocky isn't just another crib that converts into a toddler bed, although it does have you covered there. Perhaps the most unusual element is the cradle-and-rocker configuration; for a small baby, the piece turns into a rocking bassinet with a cushioned seat attached. A parent can use the seat as a rocker to lull the baby to sleep, then returning him or her to the crib. If you don't need the extra seating, everything configures to a regular crib, later transforming into a toddler bed.

I'm not sure about this as it seems you have to store a large piece to turn it into a crib.
But anyway, whilst checking it out on their website I saw this: http://jaellundtofta.de/index.php?pid=projects&sid=furniture&ssid=cradle&PHPSESSID=tl2ft59o04fdgqr6bs0k59jhh5 - it's a biodegradable cradle that turns into flowers. If this were cheap enough, I'd be all over it.
Looks like you need to be one tiny momma to fit in that seat.
I don't love the look of it, but the design is very cool. I've seen the rocking chair/bassinet combination before, in both modern and antique items, and I think it's brilliant. I wanted my husband to try to retrofit a wooden rocking bench as a rocking bassinet before our last baby was born, but he wasn't as enthusiastic about the project as I was. ;)
I was thinking the same thing, bellabeeboo! Not to mention it looks uncomfortable if not impossible to nurse in.
It doesn't seem like the mattress lowers, so I don't see it working for a standing infant.
I agree with peachypear... the crib walls do not seem to be tall enough for a child who is pulling-up to standing....and hence would not work from about 6 months to 18 months. Unless I am missing something, this crib is trying to do too much and is failing at the basics.
This is very cute, and if you go to the website you can see it in full crib ( where it is flipped and taller) and Todder bed.
yes, I saw the picture of it in crib mode on the company's website. It still looks short than any crib I've ever seen.
