Here are five ways in which you can add florals to your space in a fresh, modern way:
Bold: No surprise here; today's modern florals aren't your grandmother's demure and dainty prints, they are large! Brightly colored! Exotically patterned! And just the sort of floral sure to put some zing in your sleeping space. Get some inspiration from the ones in: Spring Fever: At Home with Floral Patterns.
Dark: The spring season might go hand in hand with darling pastels and soft neutral backgrounds, but don't be afraid to shake up your bedroom with a floral pattern printed on a deep, dark background like black, crimson red or sapphire blue. Need help? We gathered some ideas in: Botanical Noir: Dark Floral Prints
Big: The most fun way to breathe new life into an old pattern is to play with scale, so feel free to press the "enlarge" button on any florals you pull into your bedroom space. Retail stores are a great place to search for this. Find a big pattern like Anthropologie's Coqo Floral Curtain, Pottery Barn Teen's Kensington Floral Duvet, Thomaspaul's Peony Tufted Pile Rug or Aimee Wilder's Pop Floral Wallpaper, to name only a few.
Unexpected: Sure you could put some florals on your bedding, your art, your walls, or your floor, or you could totally surprise yourself by incorporating floral patterns on your lampshades, your accessories, your headboard, or even your ceiling!
Mixing and matching old and new: Play around with bold new floral patterns in bold new places, but don't be afraid to mix in a delicate, vintage-looking floral pattern for an eclectic bohemian mix that fits you perfectly. Find a great mix in: Style Sourcelist: Contemporary Floral Bedding.

Floral prints are the antidote to Viagra IMHO.
@parnassus HILARIOUS. I will admit, these are not my GREAT-Grandmother's florals, but they are indeed my grandmother's.
I add them in ways that can be replaced inexpensively because, although I like them, after a while I get tired of them.
The last photo is the only one that doesn't make me cringe in some way. Some of these are just too floral for me.
My favorite is the second image.
I like florals, but with restraint and one can get tired of them too.
There are some really great modern florals out there...but these are not them.
My bedroom is floral overload but (hopefully) a lot more updated than these examples!
I'm NOT a fan of pink in any shade, but I must say, the bright magenta with the blue and white of the first photo is really great! Blue and white porcelain looks gorgeous with brightly colored flowers, so it shouldn't surprise me that blue and white fabric does, too...
I'm with the rest-I've never been into floral patterns but I do like some of these. I have to admit, I'm digging the decorated ceilings but I would have choosen a much different pattern.
Floral prints are the antidote to Viagra IMHO.
Floral prints have always had associations with the erotic!
Someone tired of florals is tired of life, I say. i love them like a fat kid loves cake, though strangely not that keen on the photos here except the first one. Where are those pillows available?
I love the comforter in the fourth picture! My home is suffering from a serious lack of patterns. I'd love just one big, saturated, patterned piece like that one. ^_^
This is your grandmother talking ~ I still like florals, so there! (OK, I don't actually have any, but it's the principle ;-)
I really love #4. I think the floral on the comforter and pillows just goes with that room - it just makes me think of a little house with Spanish terracota tiles on the roof ......
I have mixed feelings about florals, so I'm happy I get to indulge my floral fancies in my daughter's stuff :) I made her bedding with vintage floral fabrics. I do like floral quilts and we have one that I found at a thrift store for practically free (it's hand stitched with hexagons, it amazes me that it was so cheap..) I tend to like small/tiny vintage florals the best, which from a far look almost solid. I get tired of bold florals faster.
