Shaw's Original Fir...
Finally!!! We probably would have bought our last couch from them if we could have seen it in person...
I'm disappointed in the store design. Their stores are usually better looking than this.
Ugh. They need one of these stores in Toronto.
that's nice.... now they need to open a store in New Orleans. 3 hour drive from me AND an excuse to go to NOLA more :)
we have a couch and two chairs from R&B and absolutely love them.
can i live there and get meals there?
We're getting one in Seattle too -- can't wait!

Most of Room and Board's stores are located in suburbs outside of urban areas so they have some considerable leeway as far as building architecture is concerned. On the other hand, when you build in the city center you often have to abide by certain historic preservation laws, especially in older cities like Boston.
In Boston, the space Room and Board is moving into has already been built. A glass addition is being constructed in the west facade of the building that will extend into the rear in order to add square footage. This is a pretty common tactic in historic cities like Boston, DC, Philly and so forth where it's difficult to tear and down start over. Here in DC, the store is located in a nice looking but generally nondescript 3-story building that was totally gutted and rehabbed (I believe it used to be an auto showroom). Then a fourth story glass roofdeck was added. Cheers!
and I just ordered my bed sight unseen....
