The name spells it out, don't you think? RooMax. This old-school local furniture showroom and factory specializes in space-maximizing systems for beds, home offices, media centers, closets, and other types of home storage.
The cabinet seems to be the originating concept here: cabinetry of plywood construction with hardwood veneers are adapted to various purposes: hiding a bed in a wall, sneaking drawers under the bed, squeezing a fairly elaborate home office setup along a hallway.
For instance, this 22" deep wallbed with drop-lid layback storage can be flanked with cabinets or bookcases to make it feel like a built-in.
We also like the lateral wallbed, which serves a very particular need: not only do you not have the floorspace for a bed to be down during the day, but even at night it can only fit into your space sideways.

RooMax won't win any prizes for aesthetic or trail-blazing design, but their offerings provide clean-looking solutions to small space problems at reasonable price points.
Plus, they'll spend some time with you: their homepage exhorts you to fax them your room's measurements so that they can get to work on maximizing your space.

The furniture at Roomax offers great options for small and large spaces alike. We've furnished a home office that has to double as a guest room with a Roomax wall bed, desk, dressers, and more for a price that couldn't be beat by the competition. (And there is no competition for the quality of Roomax pieces; they are simply the best and will last for years to come.) The owner is extremely helpful in designing the actual layout, the delivery was on time and the staff was polite, professional, and very careful. This is the only space-saving furniture I recommend to anyone in Northern California looking for stylish, high-quality, affordable furniture.
