Anybody else need a little pick-me-up from this cold and dull winter we've been having? I know my apartment is feeling the chill; I haven't done anything all season to show it some love. I think it's time to pick up some fresh flowers, re-paint a wall, and find some new furnishings to get ready for spring.
For inspiration, I began searching for the most flowery and bright rooms I could find, and jotted down a list of ideas I could use to show my apartment a little springtime love.
1. Fresh Flowers.
Anyone looking for an instant hit of budding season should head by the market on their way home and pick up a bunch. For ideas on how to make a small bouquet go a long way, check out 5 Ways to Enjoy Flowers at Home for the Broke, Busy and Black-Thumbed.
2. Something with a floral print.
If you can't have flowers, try the next best thing. A floral printed rug, pillow or even a flowery-looking painting will inject the spirit of the season.
3. Find Ways to Work in Pink and Green.
This preppy combination is classic for springtime. Look for ways to accessorize with spring hues; it could be as simple as a pair of throw pillows.
4. A Springy Hue on the Walls.
Nothing captures the dull nature of winter months as much as "greige." Put some spring in your step by covering up your everyday walls with a springtime hue like pink, yellow, or aqua blue.
