Let's face it: chandeliers were made to be ridden. They're a bit impractical, and heavy, and difficult to dust, but when someone needs to swoop through a fancy party brandishing a sword or just laughing drunkenly, it's the chandelier's time to shine. The work of Javier Piñón celebrates the rootin' tootinest chandelier riders around...
AnOther Loves featured one of Piñón's Medusas (which I love), but when I started looking through his work, it was the Chandelier series that caught my eye. These pieces are so charmingly boisterous, so perfectly simple, so full of life. The sense of motion and adventure that's been captured through the often-stiff medium of collage is astounding. And it's cowboys, riding chandeliers. These three are my favorite, but there are eight excellent pieces in the series.

So much fun!!!
Yee haw! A cruelty free rodeo!
I love these pictures but the "cruelty free rodeo" comment made me puke in my mouth. Twice.
I love them! Ever since I saw two of these pieces at Rough Luxe in Kings Cross last year, I've been wondering who the artist was!
So cute! And yo, the "cruelty-free rodeo" comment is far less offensive to me than the uncalled-for mention of vomit.
Love the images, and love ADUERR's comment!
I'm so sorry Aduerr, how unpleasant for you. I meant no offense.
I meant to make a brief, funny expression of excitement and a kind of what's not to love type comment. But humorous attempts don't always translate for all readers.
I love cowboys and witty humor and Javier Pinon is a master at the combination.
I even remember seeing his work in Branch Gallery four years ago. I'm glad I checked this again and know more about Javier. His wife is an great designer also, I discovered in my google investigations. Please give us a house tour of this couple if possible. I'm sure they live in a fabulously beautiful and creative place.
so awesome
