Starting today, Maison 24 becomes the first US retailer to carry Rory Dobner's line of hand-drawn inks, paintings, plates, tiles, candles, journals, cushions, and neon designs.
The creative forces behind Maison 24, the sibling duo of Louis Marra and Allison Julius, travel the globe in search of unique products for their store. When they encountered Dobner's work in London, they fell in love with the Victoriana inspired designs and decided to bring his work to their Park Avenue location.
From the Maison 24 Press Release:
"We pride ourselves on finding what is the best across a wide range of categories - home furnishings, men's and women's accessories, music, art, decorative objects, books, children's accessories, collectible toys, to bring to our Masion 24 customers," said Marra and Julius. "Learning that Rory's work was so popular in Europe and Asia but was not available anywhere in the United States inspired us to create a dedicated shop-in-shop to share our new passion for his designs in a big way." Rory Dobner added, "My illustrations are witty and whimsical allowing the viewer to take a peek into a magical world where animals are comically mischievous or playfully eccentric and I am excited to open up that world in the U.S. at Maison 24." Maison 24 and Rory collaborated on the design of the shop-in-shop and together they installed it to be unveiled at today's launch and opening event. The shop-in-shop at Maison 24 will be open at least through the holiday season and offers Rory's full collection of intricate ink tiles, plates, paperweights, mugs, candles, canvases, pillows, small neon art, and original intricate inks. They will also have 2 original steel paintings and large-scale neon pieces on offer.
