This past Christmas we got a great biodegradable pot and organic seed set made by Rosso International. Now that March has arrived, we decided it was finally time to plant the seeds and see how it works…Rosso’s Pots are 100% natural and biodegradable – made mostly of bamboo and vegetable dyes. When used indoors the pots will begin to compose after 3 years. If left outdoors, they will begin to decompose after 2 years. Once decomposition begins the pots in their entirety can be planted directly into the ground. This process help prevent transplant shock and the pot actually helps nourish the soil.
Our kit came with organic potting soil and organic Nasturtium seeds. It’s been awhile since we’ve started anything from seed, and we’ve never grown Nasturtiums before. But, Nasturtiums are edible, and hopefully by the time the Nasturtiums have blossomed, we’ll have the rest of our vegetable garden started.
If all goes well, we’ll post a photo of the finished product!
