Grace’s post on Poltona Frau’s version, reminded us how much we love Chesterfield sofas. We know it’s not in keeping with our “small” theme this month but then again, they’re definitely cool. To keep them modern, let their commanding presence be the focus; a lot of other furniture would be competitive and fussy. i wan't to cover one in the timorous beasties iguana fabric...

chesterfields always make me think of the movie "Withnail and I"...that was a great sofa.

Traditional Chesterfields are by their nature some of the most expensive sofas made because of the workmanship and extra materials that go into the turned legs, rolled and button-tufted arms, backs and seats.

It's much cheaper to make a comparable quality sofa with straight legs, square arms and flat backs - therefore much of the price difference.

@bepsf try Distinctive Chesterfields who make loads of different sofas (even fabric ones if you ask) we share a unit with them here in Huddersfield.

The Chester is a heck of a lot cheaper at High Fashion Home. Restoration must really to marking up their goods.
