Why, The Parker, of course.
Does anyone at AT:LA go anywhere else? Even in August? What about Capistrano, San Luis Obispo, La Jolla, Catalina? I know Palm Springs is cheap in the summer, but the high for Sunday is forecast to be 106°.

Isn't this the third time we've addressed "where to stay in Palm Springs" in the past few months?
For my bachelorette party, we stayed at The Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs. It is brand new and a-maz-ing. We had the best time, the food was phenomenal, and the staff was great. Moroccan old-Palm Springs style...not a generic mega-resort. Try the lavendar mojitos or they make a great Pimm's Cup.
Desert Riviera - I've tried a ton of the different spots and this is the nicest place I've been to.
The Parker 3 times. It's a fun & funny place. Great service.
The Orbit Inn is a great spot. Not only is the entire place decked out in mid-century splendor (including about 80% original furniture and decor), they offer free "Orbitinis" at their daily poolside cocktail hour! Since it's nestled in the residential area right at the foot of the mountain, it's one of the most peaceful spots in Palm Springs--and you're only a walk away from the main drag. They also have beach cruiser bikes available so you can check out all of the historic architectural homes in the area, including Elivis' honeymoon home!
[If the rooms are too pricey here, you can also check out The Hideaway, it's their family-friendly satellite hotel down the street.]
I agree with aweekinparis, the viceroy is awesome
I recommend the Ace hotel in Portland (is the one in PS even open yet?!?) It was quite the feast for the eyes! Such great little details everywhere you turn - and the restaurant next door is TO DIE FOR (see: Clyde Commons)
