• 1. Crate and Barrel's Jules accent table. I first fell in love with this delicate sculptural table when I spotted in Lauren of Pure Style Home's gorgeous living room redo.
• 2. Admittedly, there are few things from VivaTerra's that don't send me swooning, but I have a special love for these Salvaged Wood Nesting Tables made from reclaimed hardwood from old houses. Substantial with a very small footprint.
• 3. These Stacked Plywood Nesting Tables from etsy seller Michael Flynn have a pleasing warm modern shape and a range of functions. Stacked they can act as a bookcase and shelf, unstacked they work as coffee tables and benches.
• 4. cb2's Peekaboo Clear Nesting Tables are hard workers with a low key visual impact.
• 5. The Wright tables from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams look equally suited to a updated traditional room as to a more modern setting. I especially love their smooth white marble tops.
With the holidays quickly approaching, I've been thinking about all our guests who are bound to be balancing their tiny hors d'oeuvres plates on their knees if we don't come up with a better plan quickly. While researching my options, I've become quite smitten with a few of these lovely nesting tables. Check them out after the jump.

Has anyone ever seen a more affordable version of the Jules tables?
I know...I love the Jules too. I see one every once in a while at the crate and barrel outlet, but they're usually bent in some weird way and are missing the glass and even then they're still crazy expensive.
I've also been eyeing the "Jules" tables for awhile. All the above tables are lovely, but costly.
I have to say that I really like the idea of nesting tables (and the beautiful examples above are no exception), but I've never seen them put to use in the houses I've seen them in, nor can I imagine using them. Perhaps that's because we live in a small apartment and scattering extra tables around the room just seems like it would leave less room for people to stand/socialize in? I'm curious to know from anyone joining the discussion if they actually use nesting tables?
Lotusmoss, I use them. I've got a simple set of three nested tables from Ikea. The biggest one is now in use as a temp tv table, until I find something better, but usually, all three are next to the sofa. I use them as extra coffee/side tables whenever I have company. On a normal day, they would use up too much space and the room would be too cluttered.
Also, whenever I spend an evening at home, lying on the sofa with a beer and a book, the smallest table moves to the front of the sofa so I can grab anything I need without having to get up. :-)
I like the Peekaboo clear tables best of these examples. Nice and modern, and lets the light through.
equally as expensive and absolutely adorable are the nora nesting tables from RH.
I use my nesting tables all the time. There oak and I got them from my Mum as a hand me down so I don't know how old they are. My living room is an awkward space so I can't have a big coffee table in the middle of the room. The biggest table is used for a lamp and drinks if you're in the seat beside it. The smaller one is used for
a) TV dinners
b) Drinks for the other seats/sofa in the room
c) a spare seat
d) my son puts his feet up on it (not encouraged of course, but that's teens for you)
.... in fact, it's so over used I have to re-glue it.
Very handy when I've to straighten up the living room and put them all back, there seems loads more space than there is.
I plan on buying a set (looking at C&B's Moreno) because my front living room serves as walk-through from entry to rest of house and a regular cocktail/coffee table will take up too much space.
@Thea77: Good to know! Thanks for the insight.
