Fend off the fall chill -- or add graphic appeal to a staid sofa -- with these blankets or throws in warm grays, soft blues and toasty camel tones.
Though they're thick on the ground this time of year, not all blankets and throws are created equal. Go for wool over synthetic wherever possible. The original high performance fiber, wool is durable, breathable and antibacterial. Which is all just icing on the cake for icy days ahead.

Sprout Side Table
I've already pulled out all my vintage quilts ready to snuggle up once the cold weather hits us here in Ottawa.
I love #9; but the price ooouch! I have been looking for a throw without fringe for quite some time now and found one on the whim at Pottery Barn that was $79. My husband gasped. I reminded him that the one we returned to Target was $35.
#1 is the ugly throw folded on the back on the Sears couch of my childhood.
If you check regularly in the outlet and sale section Crate and Barrel almost always has some decent throws on sale for $30-75.
I love love love my Avoca blankets. I pick them up as wedding and baby presents whenever I am in Dublin. You can buy them directly from Avoca online and I think even with the exchange and higher shipping costs the price is more reasonable than Terrain's

LLBean has wool throws and blankets starting at $50. A much better price than $190.

I just snapped up a vintage crocheted afghan in my dream living room colors for 50 cents this weekend. What a steal!
