With old school charm and a glamorous finish, the bronze task lamp is an accessory that I've been noticing a lot lately in design publications. The piece once seen more commonly in libraries and offices is moving away from the desk to perch in entryways, living rooms and bedrooms. We've rounded up 7 beautiful examples, along with a few shopping suggestions...

I prefer antique brass finish to polished because it seems warmer and more substantial. Some of the lamps shown would fit in well at my place.
PS I know the IP said bronze, and like its dark, blackish finish, too, but don't notice it as often in lighting.
Proof that brass can be beautiful.
I had no idea they were called "task lamps". Love that! Also nice to see ikats, always.
I have the EXACT same lamp in the first picture! I got it on the last day of an estate sale for $15!
