Feather motifs have been popular for awhile and I am not especially partial to them but perhaps that just has to do with my name — I feel sort of protective! I've rounded up an assortment of ideas — some using real feathers (humanely collected of course) and others just using feathers as a motif.

I don't know about the lamps in the first pic, but the rug in the 7th pic from the rug company is nice. Of course, I will dirty it in 30 seconds flat!

Arrgh! I LOVE the feather lamps...those'd make a REALLY expensive cat toy in my house...
@calamityayne those lamps would be naked in my house because of the kids. LOL
Kids meaning cats.
Ever wonder where the feathers come from?
...Slaughter Houses!
They don't look so sexy now do they?
ick
The red lamps are soooo coool! They are like Sesame Street's Elmo in drag!
They are even mentally hard to clean... maintain... and have around in the long run... but still very, very cool.
Excessively expensive too... Way too much money for them...
I'm thinking no to this idea.
Thanks stephvixen now explain where leather couches, and sheep skin rugs come from.
That first pic makes me think that it is the home of a drag queen.
Not digging things made from real feathers... Especially those hideous red lamps. But Using the shapes of feathers on decals, rugs, fabrics, etc is pretty cool.
@suzy8track
my apartment is basically the drag version of myself!
Speaking from experience , anything made of feathers deterioates quickly. Mites love em. After a while all you have is some dusty stems. Other than that, I think pictures and motifs of feathers are very beautiful.
Feather covered lamps ~ tres Liberace-esque...
I just started working on a feather desk lamp this week!
I like the table in the first picture.
Feather place mats seem kind of gross.
Say... stephvixen?... where did you expect leather and feathers and skins to come from....the leather fairy?
Sorry, this animals were raised to die.. the same way, you fry your eggs in the morning.... Don't talk about PC..
It's either as much natural materials we can use.. or helping that monstrous pile of plastic in the middle of the pacific ocean..... That will actually kill us and the farm raise animals...
The photos of the Trianon feather lamps were scalped from my stylenorth post: http://stylenorth.ca/blog/2008/07/splurge-feather-suspension-lamps/
I do think that the heat is getting to a few viewers with the comments.
Yes,some feathers do come from the source after they are deceased , a lot are collected by different means.
Yes, not everyone is able to host there own pictures continually, and do browse for other pictures that are posted up on the world wide web,
Patience,please patience .
i heart all of this feathery goodness.
