There are some things that just can’t be duplicated, and we’re not talking about the remake of The Stepford Wives. But every now and then someone puts a new spin on a classic that’s both useful and eye catching.
Check out these updated designs for the home that have a good chance of standing the test of time. And can someone explain why milk seems to be a recurring theme lately?

I've been hoping Intelligentsia would make ceramic mugs of their well designed paper to-go cups- so darling!
These are fun...and then there's also the trashcan, table that looks like clear table cloth and coffee cup...http://tiny.cc/dB3ep
Those "glass" bottles are now available at Crate & Barrel as well. Wish I had known before I brought one back from Milan, and it broke.
Of these, the only one that meets the "good design/affordability/attractiveness" requirement would be the wire picnic basket, IMO.
I have the coffee cup and milk vase- both are great pieces. I am looking to get the bottles from CB. :)
If any Canadians are wondering, the glass bottles are all over the Chapters/Indigo stores.
The clear glass bottles from Crate and Barrel are a staple in my house now. Cold stuff tastes better coming from a bottle than from plastic. I drink ice cold tap water that meets municipal testing standards from a C & B bottle rather than expensive plastic (and possibly PVC-contaminated) bottles of water from sources that are not as rigorously tested. The Crate and Barrel bottles stand up to daily hard use and the dish-washer.
I've seen that ceramic Greek diner cup for years. I always think it's funny.
I wonder why MoMA did the glass creamer and didn't offer something similar for sugar? Marketing oversight.
Also, it was my impression that the green wire "picnic" basket from C & B was for grilling veggies.
Loved the notebook cheese plate from Fishs Eddy.
