I don't have pictures, but my wife and I have thought about making a headboard/artpiece out of old shutters from our building.
TBH, the Anthropologie bedroom just looks dirty to me.
Not messy -- filthy.
That said, "weathered" would be OK, as long as everything around the bed didn't look coated with a half-inch-thick layer of grime.
I love the idea of recycling and all the pics looked inviting but I have to agree with Miranda, the bed one looked dirty and possibly.....buggy....
The Anthropologie photo shoot took place in an old greenhouse and looks amazing. It's a "concept", not somewhere for you to move into. It was set to highlight "hot house" bedding and is usual for their style, was done in impecible taste.
Nothing says impeccable taste like rotting wood on your doors.
I've seen a beautiful room by an artist in Encinitas California that uses repurposed stained glass. By comparison, the Anthropologie room does look gross and a little bit depressing. Check out Viola St. Pierre's website to see this idea done right.
