I couldn't do it to my poor child. She spends her whole day waiting to get out of school and only to be reminded of it when she gets home would just be torture. :)
chalkboard above bed= me sneezing all night :(
does anyone know where to find a storage system like the one in the first picture?
I know a lot of people with vintage kid size school desks as side tables, including me :) I love mine, it was my dads.
I appreciate the appropriateness of chalkboard paint for kids' rooms but I think it's jumped the shark for other applications.
Holla to Minchee, when I think school I start to get hives.
the question is what were they doing when they wrote that on the chalkboard?
If you use Chalk Ink instead of traditional chalk, no worries re dust.
I just don't understand the appeal of chalkboards all over the house. Maybe it's because I'm a teacher and I have to work with one all day. The chalk dust dries out my hands, the dust gets all over my stuff, it sometimes makes me sneeze and cough, it gets on my clothes if I accidentally brush against the chalkboard, and I'm pretty sure that it killed a pothos I had on my desk. There's a reason most schools have dry erase boards now!
The school theme never ever goes out of style for me... I personally think it's timeless. I've had a school-themed art studio for 10 years or more and I'll still have one for 10 years and more. I love back-to-school-ness. Every year I send my friends packages of school supplies around this time.
