I'm going to come clean: my floors are dirty. And in looking for ways to combat that, especially in the bedroom (where yes, the dog does cuddle up on the bed), I thought it'd be good to share the knowledge, because maybe—just maybe—your floors are dirty too. A Roomba is a beautiful thing for floor maintenance. Fun to watch, too.
definitely shoes off in the house--keep a stash of comfy socks in a basket for guests with cold (or embarrassing) feet. You'd be surprised how much dirt/dust/other yuckiness is kept off of your floors with just this one change.
I got myself a Haan floor steam cleaner for the holidays. My floors have never been so clean!
