I have an old Braun I picked up 35 years go. It's very basic: a analog clock and an alarm. I can't imagine traveling without it.
we just use my husband's blackberry.... less likely to forget it...
I have a round one that you can stick under your pillow and set to vibrate - helpful when you're sharing a room and don't want to wake up everyone with annoying beeping.
Seems like everyone already owns some device w/ an alarm (ipod, cell, iphone) - can't really see the need to pack along another item for this (other than some of them are really nice looking).
This is so timely as my alarm clock didn't survive the trip west. Unlike so many others I prefer a separate alarm clock. Dig the orange one but will probably go with the muji for more info.
I love that orange one, but I have to agree with everyone. What's the point of a travel alarm clock? Most hotels have alarm clocks. Plus, you can use your cell phone/ipod and have a wakeup call as a backup.

I travel to places where rooms do NOT come with clocks and my unlocked GSM phone doesn't have an alarm. I use a cheap fold up clock I found on Amazon, which replaced one very similar that I'd had for years. I want a clock that is lightweight, has large figures, lights up and is easy to set.
the point of the post might also be that some people use a travel alarm clock in their own home, I do. since they are battery powered you never have to worry about your clock losing power and sleeping in and since they are small they don't take up much space on your bedside table.
I have an ipod touch and a cell phone, but I don't really want them by my bed--my texas hold 'em addiction is too great. I have to leave my ipod in the other room or I'll never go to sleep.
