Roundup: Wood Walkers

Our (nearly) 10-month-old son has been contemplating walking. We've tried holding his arms and walking around the living room, but the one-foot-in-front-of-the-other concept sort of eludes him. When we put him behind a walking toy, however, we were amazed how quickly he "got it" and began to toddle along behind it. We've saved you some research and legwork if your child is also having dreams of walking with this roundup of ten wood walkers. Find links and prices after the jump.FIRST ROW
1 Woodpecker Walker by Plan Toys ($85)
2 Walker's Wagon ($155)
3 Wonderworld Fire Engine Walker ($75)
4 Chomp and Clack by Melissa & Doug ($45)
5 Around-the-Block Wagon by Parents ($80)

SECOND ROW
6 Walker Cow by Scratch ($115)
7 Eco-Friendly Light and Sound Fire Engine Push or Ride ($110)
8 Push and Play Rabbit Walker by Boikido ($55)
9 Fill 'N Build Block Cart ($45)
10 Hopping Bunny Walker by Smart Gear ($70)

We were surprised how expensive wood walkers were (some much more than others) so be sure to shop around, check Craigslist, garage sales, etc. In the end, we bought #5, the Around-the-Block wagon for less than half price from a local parent. Also, check out our last baby walker roundup from 2007.
