Location: Miami
Eclectic, glamorous, fresh, and classic. My wife and I (both designers) moved into our apartment about a year ago. Being newlyweds and having just opened our own design firm our budget was tight but our vision was grand. Our apartment is 900SF (1 bedroom 1 bathroom) overlooking the Miami River.
We used innovative multi functional storage techniques including a coffee table made out of books (we call it ‘coffee book table’) and floor to almost ceiling units in the dining room and bedroom to conceal all our stuff. We have a great mixture of furniture from all around the world some new and some old.
We're proud of the innovative art work we’ve made including a straw sculpture (yes that’s drinking straws – each one hand sewn together) and a paint chip "painting" on the wall above the sofa entirely made of paint chips from our local home improvement store. We call it the "non painting”. I hope you like our home.
Thanks, Ruben!

I LOVE that balcony. I would spend every night out there. :D
Love the skull pillows on your living room couch, keeps the space from looking too contrived. I also love how you used filing cabinets as night stands in your bedroom for added storage. They blend in well. The entire look is very high end, even though you were on a budget. You can't beat the view overlooking your balcony. Took my breath away. I also love the unexpected angle in which you two set up your dining room table. It keeps the space looking very open and airy. You two are definitely talented.
Love the idea. I seem to have the same problem. I'm an avid reader and have a rather large collection despite my contributions to local charities. I would add an MDF board and coasters to place under the books, so you can move it around, if you wanted to. I'm definitely gonna steal the idea. THANKS!
Where is the straw sculpture? I don't see it in these photos.
I like this. A lot.
Love the coffee table! such a great idea. Would love to see more photos of it.
This is a really beautiful apartment I love that you have made it very functional and I love that artwork. Beautiful apartment.
so much love. I like the mix of sleek black & playful colour
I'm REALLY confused - does AT always repost like this?

I had to cache it from Google because, apparently, all 68 comments have been deleted since May 2. Is there a reason for that? Other articles from April (and years older) still have comments.
I really love the paint chip "painting" and the coffee book table. Creative and clever!
Love it! Very Chic, and I agree with inkybrushes...great balcony!!! I have only one thing...I wish the painting over the sofa were about 6" lower. Please inform me if I'm wrong!
