This gorgeous hummingbird rug by fashion designer Alexander McQueen for The Rug Company (created before he passed away earlier this year) is most definitely way out of my budget at $18,900, but I still can't wait to see the rest of the collection, which will include four rugs and two throw pillows.
McQueen's unbridled creativity is what made him so thrilling as a fashion designer and so far seems to translate beautifully to the home. Read more about the collection at W Magazine and keep an eye out for all the pieces at The Rug Company.

Could you screen print a custom rug to look like something like that?
I LOVE the Rug Company. I'm still obsessed with that Paul Smith "Swirl" design that came out a few years ago, and of course I especially like the highest of the high end: the silk version. Ah, it's so stunning. Le sigh.
