I've been an avid user of Wahoo Blue heart rate monitor for a few months now (the best $80 I've spent this year), not just because the Bluetooth device keeps track of my ticker's rhythm wirelessly, but also because the iOS-compatible monitor maps my running routes automatically using GPS for review afterward. But I now realize I need to get more creative about my running routes after seeing what these runners created while putting in their miles...
MapMyRun is one of the most downloaded and used running apps available for both iOS and Android runners with fleet feet; utilizing the smartphone's GPS chip within, users can keep track of exactly how far and where they've run, especially helpful when logging in miles while training for a race.
The app developer recently held an amusing contest amongst users, challenging them to pound the pavement and "illustrate" using the mapping feature. Above are five of my favorites, with several more examples here on their Facebook page.
