Did you catch Leah's great tutorial on how to create a reclaimed wood wall? I was so happy she posted it, because my inspiration boards are filled with images of wood siding used in homes. Long gone are the days when wood paneling was reserved for dingy basements and dark attics. Now, it's all about texture, pattern and color — all while staying modern.
We love how Leah used just a small amount of paneling as an accent wall for her client's flower shop. In my opinion, wood paneling works best when it's made from salvaged wood, which is super easy to find at a low cost. Check out construction sites, furniture makers, Craigslist, garage sales and deconstruction companies — anything from wood flooring, siding, and scrap wood boards can be used. Salvaged wood has a lot of personality, is unique, creates interest, and is far different from the often shunned monotonous bead board paneling. Wood paneling can be use in small doses such as for a headboard or piece of furniture, as an accent wall, or even wrapped around an entire room.

I like this as an accent wall but not the ones that look like pick-up sticks.
Do the hanging lights in #1 look photoshopped to you?
The hanging lights in #1 look like lit lamps in a room that is very bright with natural light. The one in the center of the frame is round; the others have a bit of lens distortion.
We have a wall that looks like the one with the random painted pieces, made with wood found on the beach. I love it but it is on the outside of our vacation shack.
can anyone tell me where the rug/carpet in the 10th picture can be sourced?
I like the reclaimed wood wall.
The delicate-ness of the sunburst mirror seems lost on the scrap wood wall. I like the wall, and the mirror, just not together.
Simply stunning. I can't get over the amazing use of colors. For example, the wall with the sun is breath taking. Thanks for sharing.
Sincerly,
Pickwise
LOVE the painted wood pieces with the sun mirror!
Does that reclaimed wood come with termites, how would one know?
I really like the contrast between rustic and modern, especially in the 1st picture, with that amazing view.
