The end of summer always reminds me of sleepaway camp. As a kid, I left home every August for one or two weeks to live in a cabin with a bunch of other kids, go hiking in the woods, and sit around a campfire. For a much more grown-up version of summer camp, check out the Dunton Hot Springs hotel in Colorado, complete with luxury cabins and tipis...Dunton's draw is its mineral pools, as well as the rustic but lux decor awaiting guests inside each cabin. Against the backdrop of the Colorado Rockies, Dunton was once a mining town. The hotel's website describes the resort as a "perfectly restored ghost town" that "thrives on contradictions." The humble building exteriors conceal beautifully furnished interiors, and the hot springs give the rustic mountain town a steamy spa-like feeling, even in winter.
