Design: Blox
Materials: Steel, Powder Coat
Pitch: "Blox is inspired by both the excitement and sophistication of going out in the city at night, and the beautiful, partially lit architecture that surrounds you. Each piece is laser cut from sheet steel and can be powder coated in any color. The pattern on each side of the Blox is different and every other piece is folded inside out producing a total of 8 different patterns that can be facing outward."
"The pieces are modular and multifunctional. They are meant to be small tables, but can also be used as stools, be combined to create benches, etc. Blox result from a study in the process of abstraction, and the design principles of compositional balance achieved through asymmetry, pattern, and repetition. Made with renewable materials and low waste, low emission finishes, Blox remind us that green design can be sexy. The cut outs create interesting light patterns in almost any lighting situation. The very high gloss finish and the binary language like pattern of square cut-outs lend themselves to truly contemporary design."

This is a very beautiful object. Very beautiful. I would love to own one.
I do, however, question the language about the "sophistication of going out in the city at night."
Huh? Everyone who steps out after dark is sophisticated, because they're stepping out after dark? Huh? Maybe he means the "glamorous feeling of the city at night." That, I can see.
OSH hardware has something like this but round in bright green and orange for about $35.00.
If I need a small table, I would have gone for it.
That looks an awful lot like the "60s Fish Hotel" sold at Plasticland.
Love it
Hmm. Zollverein School of Management and Design? j/k
tough crowd.
Very cool-love the white.
I love the fact that in such a simple form, the excitement and complexity of the city is completely captured. AND...by adding light to the equation, it boasts a dynamic quality that IS city living. That bagel shop...used to be a shoe store. That Starbucks...used to be...well, another Starbucks but that's not the point! City life IS CHANGE. It IS ENERGY and MOVEMENT and this has all those elements. I absolutely love seeing something so simple...devoid of superfluous nonsense that perfectly encapsulates it's initial intent.
Bravo sir! I'll take 3 ;)
Love it.
I love the elegance and added versatility of this piece! I could see it working well in a lot of settings and would love a couple in my studio space. Added plus is the Designer's green conscience in producing the pieces.
All around A+ from me.
Love the concept of this piece. And the blue one is fantastic! What a great color!
Love the white - Would work well with any existing style in any space. Forward design concept.
Beautiful piece of furniture, very versatile in function and style.
This table will add a WOW to any contemporary decor.
