Name: Ryan Timbrook
Location: West Seattle — Seattle, Washington
Size: 2,500 square feet
Years lived in: 6 months — owned
A little over half a year ago Ryan went on the search for a bright, airy, modern home with an open floor plan. He didn't want a fixer upper, but he was looking for a place that he could make changes to and call his own. One of the biggest renovations he wanted to incorporate into his new home was a workout gym and bike shop.
Ryan has been learning Jujitsu at Seattle's Integrated Martial Arts and wanted to have the perfect space to continue his workout regimen at home. He spent the last couple months having the garage renovated into just that. The other half of the converted garage is a dedicated workshop for his motorcycles.
This home is filled with vaulted ceilings, clean lines and stunning fireplaces. Ryan has kept the colors very neutral and warm with the exception of one big red accent wall that fits in perfectly. It's the kind of place that makes you feel really cozy like you want to curl up on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea. And being in Seattle, there sure is enough days like that to go around. The kitchen is a cook's dream with ample counter space and an incredible island with a built in stove. The whole top floor living area is perfectly set up for entertaining.
Ryan has a few more big plans for his new home, including building a small cottage in the backyard for family and guests, but all in all he has found the perfect open, modern home that he was looking for.

White Enamel Four-P...
A really neat space. The only part that isn't working for me is the red accent wall in the kitchen/living area. It doesn't really go with the rest of the space and it's a little too jarring imo. Otherwise, it's a really well put together space.
I want this house!
I love the MCMod fireplaces - monolithic, but they fit into the homeowner's spare style. I envy the den. Wish there was a floorplan, though.
Love the finishes.....floors, cabinets, hardware, tile.....great space! Thanks for sharing.
I have Irish Moss envy.
Gorgeous home, awesome job. That workout room is dreamy.
And...big ups to West Seattle! I'm moving there tomorrow. But not to your house (darn). Can't wait!
its a well put together place but i really love the vanity in the bathroom. Does anyone have a source. its so had to find modern looking double vanities or maybe i am not looking in the right places.
I really like the fireplace in the living room - is there a specific name for that type of rock?
I adore the bricks around your second gas (?) fireplace. Amazing. Did you buy this house as is and only put in a gym? It sounds like it. If so, the previous owners did an amazing job on the kitchen, bathrooms, and fireplaces. Of course, your styling is also perfect. You have a beautiful home.
Love all the tile work, specially on the fire places!
I chuckled over the idea of a separate guest house for family - wish I could get away with that!
Brian is fine!
Daaaaaayuum; everything in THAT house is attractive ;-)
Would also like to know what tiles or rocks that are used on the gas fireplace? Also tile in bathroom. Wish we had more foto's to look at.
Very nice house and tastefuly decorated. Love the red wall. Please post the sources of tiles....
I registered with AT just so I could comment on your home...It is amazing. I want to live there!!! Great job (and BTW, love the "shoes" in the last photo).
So great... I love the kitchen and the sofas in the living area. What is that orange accented area, seems like there's a door?
The dog is adorable.
Many wonderful furniture pieces and interesting details--too much beige for me though. Layering other neutral (or not so neutral) colors would stir things up!
Wow...I really like how he fixed up his home,, seems very warm and comfortable,,,,good taste, not overdone,,,the red wall should be toned down a little bit...because his focal point is the kitchen ,,not the wall about,, if he wanted a bold color,, he could use maybe a softer orange,,,to blend in the rest of the kitchen,,,good going Ryan!!
Love the kitchen and love the red accent wall. It provides a nice pop of color and without it would seem bland.
I'm so jealous of your amazing fireplaces! Very nice! Love the sweet face on your poochie too!
I don't know why people would say the red wall is jarring. Yes like others have said the fireplaces are great.
Love the pavers in the back yard!
Is that poured concrete or did you buy a variety of different sizes of pavers? If purchased, I'm a Seattle-ite and would love to know where??!!
It's bugging me that I can't work out what the main fireplace needs to complement that wonderful stone. The rest of the space is so stylish (especially the dining room) that a trio of cheap-ass little IKEA shelves just doesn't cut it. More definitive shelves? Wallpaper? Art? Mirrors? Sculpture? Potted trees? Design-y log storage?
I LOVE this house! The kitchen is amazing - pretty much how I would want my ideal kitchen to look like. Thanks for another local Seattle post!
did i miss the picture where they showed some personality?
*jaw drops*
I need those fireplaces!
Who makes the coffee table?
i love the dining table with bench and dining lighting. great style! thanks for sharing!
