Name: Sadie & Grace (2.5, twins)
Location: Glen Ellyn, IL
Color Inspiration: This room is the result of our decision to turn the master bedroom of our 1950's cape cod into a shared room for our 2 1/2 year old twins. My color inspiration came from what was already in the room that I needed to work with (curtains, wall color and throw pillows) and my favorite print from etsy seller theblackapple, "acorn twins," seen hanging above the rocker.
Tip for Using Color: I like to start with a neutral wall and furniture and add color with fabric, accessories, books and toys, which seem to find their way into every living space in our house.
Colors Used: The walls in this room are Restoration Hardware's silver sage, which I had mixed at Benjamin Moore. The walls look a little more gray than blue in reality. I absolutely love this color paired with the mustard yellow curtains and pink accents. Almost all of the fabric is from my Amy Butler stash.
Thanks for your colorful entry Kerry and good luck!

I loove the little fridge and kitchen
Are the curtains also Amy Butler fabric? Did you make them yourself? They're fantastic!
Restoration Hardware's silver sage is my absolute favourite colour. I never thought about it for a little girl's room but this is great. Amy Butler and the Nova Natural's kitchen are also among my favourites. Now, if I only had a little girl...
Where did you find the rug? I love it, I want it!
I think that is the refrigerator and stove from Willow Toys. Made in the USA.
Nice room, nice safe toys!
@Candice & River - The hopscotch rug is from CB2... I've been drooling over it for a while now...

i want to live in this room.
where is the pendant light from please? It is perfect for my (fake) tulip table!!!!
by the way...did you make the kitchen set? It's cute!!! My daughter's room is a light tiffany blue, I have also made a triangle-pendant banner for it, and am contemplating yellow curtains also...I've seen quite a bit of blue or blue-grey rooms with yellow curtains and i love the combo!!
The kitchen is on sale right now...

Thank you for the kind comments! I did make the curtains using fabric from Amy Butler's Lotus line. The rug is indeed from CB2. I had my eye on this for a long time before I found the perfect spot for it the house. It is fun watching our two year olds try to play hopscotch. The pendant lampshade is from Velocity Art and Design (Norm 03). It has to be assembled, which is quite time consuming, but well worth the effort. The play kitchen is made by Elves and Angels, a family run business in Maine. I believe Nova Naturals sells it.
Can you please tell me where the bed frames are from? I would love to get that for my daughter. If they are sold in Australia...
those beds are cute too, are they vintage?
Thanks for the questions Sussitout and Heela. The beds are from the Land of Nod. They are the Jenny Lind beds, which they still sell. I bought ours when the antique white style went on clearance a few years back. I believe that they only carry them in white now. Hope this helps!
LOVE the two beds separated by the hopscotch rug. Thanks for the inspiration!
love the kitchen and how you put the art work low, what a good idea! mthe beds are cute i saw ones that remined me of those at land of nod. my daughter would love the hop scotch rug(ive seen others but not like the real chalk, whare did you get it?
Wondering about the bedding. Is it Amy Butler as well? thanks
