Gizmodo reports that D-Link has cut the price on their entry-level N-Series routers to below $50. This cuts its price by 35% compared to similar products by competitors. So, if you're looking for an inexpensive router to complement some new gifts this holiday season, this might be your best buy.
It's still listed at $75 on D-Link's site, but we notice that Best Buy's prices already reflect the price cut.

Does this work with Mac?
The specs say it is compatible with OS 10.4 .
I have found that D-Link is both user-friendly and Mac-friendly. I have an older DI-614 Wireless Broadband Router (used with both Win and Mac machines), and it's great.
But you will need a repeater to get it past 100 ft. There is a reason D-link is willing to go below $50 for a wireless router!! The router has a reputation to overheat, constant DHCP errors, short life and constant need of rebooting.
Buy a cheap router, you get a cheap router. Wait for the G3...be patient my friends. If you need a router, you just have to plop down the $100 for a solid one.

ffffffrabbit - I live in area 1, in a neighborhood, and we've never gotten the city-wide WiFi. It's been extremely disappointing for us. D'oh!
Glad your friend has been able to get it.
It should be noted that the above router pictured is the DGL-4500 and will set you back $200.
The $49.99 N-Router is the DIR-615 and isn't quite as nice looking. http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/images/products/8305/8305568_sa.jpg
