Stop telling people to buy Crosley turntables, AT! They sound terrible. They're made of dirt-cheap, non-repairable or replaceable components. Most importantly, THEY WILL RUIN YOUR LPs!!
Crosley tonearms don't float, and are preset at a given tracking pressure. The needle is designed for durability way over sensitivity (dirt cheap, after all), so the tonearm has to push down HARD. This ensures that they can play with minimal fuss, at the expense of wearing down the grooves in whatever record is playing. Honestly, your records would last longer and sound better if you tried playing them by hand with a steak knife. If you want to listen to vinyl, get a real turntable!
@Pullo, Thank you!!! You would think they get a cut of the sales of that POS!!!!
Vinyl sounds like crap anyhow so no great loss, but yeah, that Crosley turntable is an enormous P.O.S.
You'd be much better off spending the money on used CDs of the albums you want.
