We saw these Sally stools in the new Chiasso Catalog that came in the mail the other day and had a serious flash of recognition to a designer piece that DWR used to carry [can't find them on the site anymore]. Some pangs of guilt went through our minds about buying a knock off but then we saw the unbelievable price of $48 and left the guilt behind. Also available in orange to perk up any space. Not familiar with the DWR ones (inspired by? knock-off?), but saw these at Rockridge Home and fell in love w/them. ABS plastic and yes the lid comes off. Have been using them as extra seating and baby has co-opted them for use as a walker. Have not put them outside so can't comment on the fade resistance. And after spending 1800 on a coffee table am more than happy to spend 50 on cool looking stool.....
