We just can't get enough of play kitchens. We're always proud to showcase another one as each one brings with it more and more inspiration for others to tackle making their own. We featured one made from two IKEA tables earlier today, but this one is a treasure that's been flipped, revamped and then some!
Lillian over at spent just under $18 on this play kitchen makeover! She picked it up at her local Salvation Army for just $5 and with some new paint, hardware, and a little fabric, well the results are just adorable.
You can read more about her makeover over at Domestic Simplicity, where we're sure this sweet piece will see it's fair share of use and be a great addition to their play room. We just love made over thrifted finds don't you?!
Thanks Lillian!

what a find! it's adorable. those knobs keep sticking out at me though, she should paint them yellow!
I wish I could find an old kitchen like that! How cool.
lyndsea ~ the knobs are a battle I lost with my husband:) I wanted to take them off and paint them(after he drilled them in;), he wanted to leave them. He won. We kind of like the natural element that it leaves to give a little nod to the original state! -Lillian
Is that a Creative Playthings? It looks a lot like the one I had as a kid back in the 70s. Which my mom still has, and won't give to me--she wants my daughter to play with it at her house. Hmph. Anyway, lovely job on the refurbishing. That fabric on the curtain is adorable. Is the sink painted on? I seem to remember that my kitchen had a piece of tupperware (or something plastic along those lines) that fit into the hole to act as the sink.
Ooooh - maybe it is??? It definitely had an old cracked tupperware thing as the sink when I got it! We also found a signature from a grandfather to a grandchild on the bottom. We assumed it was because he made it, but maybe it was just a gift? Our sink is painted on, but just because we put a big piece of wood over the sink opening in lieu of trying to fit something exactly into the opening that was already there. -Lillian
