We’ve written about David Ellison of Lorimer Workshop’s tables on Apartment Therapy before, but since he is located right here in Rhode Island and we saw an excellent example of his handiwork in Jason Thompson’s loft a few weeks ago, we thought we would give him a shout out from the Boston site.
The huge tables are perfect for the many unique converted loft spaces here in Rhode Island, but a slightly smaller version would fit perfectly in a more traditionally-sized New England home. They are made from salvaged wood — which we love — and since every table is custom built, the finished product is truly unique.
Read about the custom farm table that Lorimer Workshop built for Faith (of the kitchn) here.

I've always wanted to put 8 ghost chairs around my farmhouse table. It's so wonderful to see someone else having the good sense to do it, too :)
*swoon*
The 4th one is exactly the type I am looking for.
Very nice, and prices seem comparable to mass-produced tables etc from C&B, Pottery Barn etc. Thanks for the link!
I like the second one, because it looks like it has retained its original character and kept its farmhouse roots, while still looking fresh.
Who does this is LA!?
you can find several companies producing authentic, hand-crafted wood tables that far surpass C&B and PB in both quality and price.... don't waste you money :) we shopped Lorimer and they do great work - but ended up buy a table from Vermont Farm Table and we LOVE it!
