The BD-P4600 from Samsung (catchy product name, huh?) is way more than just a machine that will play Blu-Ray disks. It connects to your WiFi network, allowing you to download movie and music files, stream your Netflix queue and play tunes from your favorite Pandora stations.
On top of function, the things got plenty of fashion. It's sleek, thin (1.5") and wall-mountable, but we gotta admit we love the UFO-style stand it comes with.

If you think this level of BluRay technology is going to relevant in 10 years, either, you're crazy. I too use my HTPC(mac mini) for Hulu and Netflix, and I still have an HDDVD player that I got for less than $100 and guess what, it still works! I'm just not picky enough to see the noticeable visual difference to justify $500 that will be outdated soon enough. But, that's just me.
This isn't the first Samsung device to do this. I bought the BD-P1600 about two months ago and it does the same things, though it doesn't have quite the form factor that this one does.
I recently installed one of these things in a friends house, I have to say the interface is impressive. I snaked the wires through the wall and mounted it below the matching lcd, it has a good look to it. More remarkable is the TV itself, I can bring over movies on a thumb drive in all types of formats and plug it directly into the TV. I don't know if it's worth $500 but it was an easy setup and it works beautifully.
