San Francisco Bans Single-Serving Plastic Bottles

Last week, San Francisco's Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to bar the city from purchasing plastic water bottles, and banning distribution of bottles under 21 ounces on city property. The ban will have an exception for events such as marathons, and goes into effect on October 1.
