There are pieces of furniture along our path in life that become true treasures. Pieces we know we will have forever and our children and grandchildren will remember for years to come. The Eleva Sofa is one of them. Click through the jump to see what's so special about this unassuming piece and a few other items from this name.

Rafa Garcia designed this piece for Sancal (as well as the few pictured below). Here's why we love this sofa so very much:

"The Eleva is a modular with a minimalist design. The large back and seat cushions ensure maximum comfort. This generous, deep sofa also includes an exclusive mechanism - invented by the designer Rafa Garcia - that enables the back to be "elevated" to provide greater back support."

After having tested and retested an amazing amount of low-back modern sofas, we can assure that that it's one of our biggest problems. No one really wants to spend a large chunk of change on a sofa that looks pretty, but isn't functional. We look forward to the design hitting the US. Some quick googling leads us to believe that it's only sold in Europe as of now, but I'm sure it won't be long before it makes the jump across the pond in our direction (if you know different, let us know!). Here are a few more pieces from Sancal that will hopefully make the jump someday too.

The Chairs do not swivel, but were constructed for people to actually sit in.

This sofa is a chameleon of sorts as pieces fold up and down to conform to your space.
