With our busy schedules, hours and hours can go by with out us even noticing-- most days feel like a blur of phone calls, emails, meetings, and paperwork. It's for this reason that I love hourglasses-- you can literally see the passage of time right before your eyes. These sand timers are equal parts cheery, colorful, and beautiful; vaguely resembling sweet hard candy or your latest prescription pills.

Although these Sand Timers by Vogel are completely reasonable (about $30), you do have to order them from Germany — which I'm not always comfortable doing. So if you like hourglasses, but would like them with a bit of color, you may consider purchasing the $30 CB2 hourglass that's sold with green sand, without having to worry about international shipping.
