: San Juan City, Puerto Rico
Our family house is a 1,200 square foot 1962 midcentury modern house in a urban neigborhood near San Juan City in the island of Puerto Rico. I fell in love with the house and bought it in 2007 — the light, the openness and the terrazzo floors — and wanted to transform the space into exactly the home we want.
It has been a 3-year work in progress and many touches were completed by including the additional closet and little bathroom in my bedroom, new custom kitchen cabinets and a patio landscaping. We knocked out half of the wall separating the kitchen and the living room to open up the space and add a polished concrete kitchen bar for enjoy family gathering.
It's a place to entertain family and friends. I would say the style is modern and minimalist, with the essential furniture and accessories for a clean, simple and open space for enjoyment and entertainment.
