Got someone in your life who gets cold quickly and easily? Someone who busts out the scarf when the temps drop below 70 degrees? Know someone who is always trying to convince you of the necessity of the Snuggie/Slanket? Oh yeah, that would be my girlfriend! I may have to get her one of these rechargeable hand warmers as a Christmas stocking stuffer gift.
Actually, the concept may be a good one for not only temperature sensitive significant others, but also for the elderly, since heat helps in circulation, and I know my own mother may appreciate something like this more than I can fathom as the temps dip further. The hand held warmers heat up to 102° F on low and 115° F on high, operable between 1-3 hours after charging for 4 or so hours.
The two styles both use 2 AA eneloop removable rechargeable batteries, which maintain 70% charge after 2 years of non-use; rechargeable 1,000 times at a cost of less than 2 cents per recharge. Nab one for $35 or $45 from the Sanyo Store for that walking ice cube in your life.

I have to get one! I already have a heated mouse and I was wishing that I could carry it around w/ me.
The Russians thought of this idea about 30 years ago, though their warmer is a tiny catalytic converter and it uses pure gasoline. I have one of these, it`s of iPod Classic - size, and one load of gasoline (about 20ml) is enough to keep it running for 8 to 10 hours. I put it somewhere near big arteria (preferrably front trousers pocket) and forget about being cold. Incredible invention, low-tech and very reliable. Wouldn`t trade it for that Sanyo.
This is the perfect complement to my battery-powered socks. Oh, and you might want to tell that walking ice cube in your life to get her thyroid checked at her next doctor visit. Cold sensitivity is a sign of hypothyroidism.
well, I think I might buy this for myself since I do indeed have a thyroid problem! perfect :)
