Name: Sarah & Alex
Location: Columbia, Missouri
We fell in love with our rental's great architecture features the second we walked in. The house was built during the Civil War Era and still has its original hardwood floors! This is the first time my boyfriend and I have lived together, so we wanted a house we could call home, together. Unlike most men, he too likes interior design, so while we have had our battles (all over art!) we both take great pride in our home.
I am a religious Apartment Therapy reader and my tastes have greatly developed because of AT =D. I would say our interior style is mid century modern. Almost everything is a craigslist or flea market steal.
Our Paolo Piva coffee table was a find on craigslist for only $75! During my hunts I have also found two ikea klappsta chairs for $150 (for the both of them), a Zou Modern Andromeda chair for $150, and the Zenith credenza was a flea market find I got for $25!
I think its safe to say I'm a craigslist/ bargain hunter addict ;).
Thanks, Sarah & Alex!

Haha, my husband and I just had this discussion a few days ago, about how lucky we are that both of us like current interior design trends. He came home from visiting a wonderful, albeit design-backward friend, and the first thing he said when he walked in the door:
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For not liking walls and walls of clutter."
I was looking at the art in picture #5 and trying to remember where I'd seen those 3 pics. Then I had it: from the set of Pete Campbell's apartment in Mad Men. Kinda lame that I recognized it.
Fabulous furniture and paint choices. I wish I could see more pics!
LOVE the color in the first pic, what is it?
Reminds me of my own home (in a way.) I love your paint colors and the whole place looks so warm and inviting.
This is a great example for the folks who complain on the AT Craigslist Scavenger posts that they don't have anything worth having in their area...
...Get thee to the Flea Markets and Estate Sales!
Very nice! Looks like you have a good eye for bargains.
such fantastic color choices! this is a breath of fresh air and inspires me... and is extra cool because i live in columbia as well--- exciting to see a post from this town! :)
That credenza was a steal! Nice hunting.
vernonlee...i totally recognized the art from Pete Campbell's apartment too. way too many hours of Mad Men....
Love the Klimt painting. Beautiful home!
Thanks everyone!
The tryptic is indeed from Mad Men. =) We needed art so much that I opted to just recreate it.
