Name: Sarah
Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
My home is in the former Jamaica Plain High School on Sumner Hill. The building is surrounded with gorgeous Victorian homes and green space. I purchased my unit with wall to wall carpeting, naked walls, and unbeknownst to me....a leaky outside wall.
After a long haul of repointing the 100 year old bricks, I was finally able to make my home "me"! With a bit of paint, a handful of craigslist finds, and some love....it's finally home. There's nothing like finally having the space to sit your closest friends at one table and eat great food and delicious drinks!'
Thanks, Sarah!

Hey, I have that same map hanging in my office! I love the colors.
Love the colour kick!
Love the bookshelf! Where did you find it?
Neat! Full house tour, please!
So curious about this space. A full house tour is a must!
I was there the day Sarah moved in, helping to lug stuff from her car to her new home. It looked A LOT different back then. Sarah, congrats on making your apartment so incredibly snazzy!
Congrats Sarah! Your home is so beautiful and so YOU! Your eye for artistic detail is bar none.
I've had so much fun with this space! It's my first home and I couldn't be more happy with it! The view out the windows on the 3rd floor are amazing - from spring to winter it really changes the feel of the space. Last night the moon filled the whole house with the most beautiful light, no way to capture or describe. Thank you so much for all the lovely comments. If I can find a way to share more picture, I'll be more than happy to do so! Big thanks to my sister Alycia Braga who took the photos, you amaze me everyday! www.bragaphotography.com.
This woman has an eye for color and design. Comfortable and elegant living
Love that shower curtain. Where'd you get it?
I purchased the shower curtain on www.RueLaLa.com. It's made by Blissliving Home.
Pretty sure there are still a handful of units available - www.sumnerhillcondominiums.com
amazing space. amazing gal. great use of space and re-use of materials, furniture. simple, clean lines. space has a very calming vibe to it. LOVE.
adore that green room!
You have a beautiful home! Could you share your paint colors, particularly the blue in the living/dining room and the brighter green in the bedroom? I'm picking colors for my own home and these two shades are gorgeous! Great job putting your place together!
Would love to see a house tour, too. And your kitty looks very much like one of mine and has the same attitude....."everything in here is mine"? Don't forget a pic of him/her in the tour.
Lindsey D. - the china cabinet in the living area is a hand-me-down from my grandmother Aurora. I can remember as a child it being in her dining room and filled with green and white china. I also got the china after she passed away, but it's featured in other areas of the house.
Montana Gal - I'll be happy to share my colors. I'll grab my inspiration book tonight and post!
Yes, Moosie the cat is featured in many of my other house pictures. Moosie is also a hand-me-down! After my grandfather Walter passed away, I was honored to be asked to take care of him. He is quite a cat and runs the show!
So much I want to steal, but the COFFEE TABLE!!! Love love love. I've been hunting for one and that's it! Where did you get it?
Sarah, your apartment looks so awesome. Alycia told me you were obsessed with AT too and you were submitting. She showed me the pictures last week and she emailed me this morning to let me know. Congratulations!!
-Robin(a sort of cousin-in-lawish)
Tonshouse: The only two items I bought brand new is the olive colored couch (you can only see a corner of it in the living area) and the daybed in the green room. A couple hand-me-downs, but everything else is craigslist. The dining room table & chairs cost me $40 and I through some cute fabric on the seats. The hutch in the red foyer, which you can't see, matches the table and was also $40 - it's gorgeous. The coffee table, I had to have, but it was over budget at $140. The Danish couch was also over budget at $275. That couch has a very interesting story behind it, let's just say I had to interview to get it. The queen bed frame and mattress were $75. I like to find deals and I like to fix things up.
Robin - I heard you work at Tobi Tobin Design in LA, I'll be out there Jan 20th - 26th. Be fun to pop by and say hello! Feel free to contact me through Alycia.
I love how the wall colors are different, yet they flow nicely. Plus they coordinate well with the hardwood floors. Cool digs!
Oh wow... and I am just looking at the first photograph!
Something about the space speaks to me. Love the colours and overall design aesthetic :) And love the kitty too!
PLEASE get us a full tour!! Love the color choices and really hope to see more!

Hi Sarah
Your place looks great! Where did you get the bathroom sink? I'm looking for a vanity like that for my place.
Thanks!
Karen
love this apartment! I walk by the building every morning on my way to the T and wonder what it's like inside--thanks for the peek!
Hi Karen: The vanity is very simple and small, but it's what I wanted. It also has a tiny drawer that actually opens. Great for all the stuff you use everyday! It was Home Depot Special!
Eggy83: I've meet a ton of people in the community and when I tell them where I live, people always have the same reaction. Walked by it a million times wondering what it's like inside. There are 75 units and they're all different. Believe me, I'd love to go door by door and see what each unit looks like. Lots of artsy people in there, so I can only imagine.
