Items of personal and sentimental value are on display throughout the apartment, from her father’s drum in the bedroom to ceramics handcrafted by her mother in the kitchen, not to mention the many pieces Sarah collected while working for Heath Ceramics. The personal touches are balanced out with colorful, playful items like the oversized artwork in the kitchen and vibrant pink accents, creating a mix that feels personal, unique, and truly one of a kind.

My Style: My style is a total mix — Modern Eclectic meets Bohemian. I’ve lived in big cities in Europe and the U.S. and always bring in some home elements from my hometown of Santa Fe, NM — a little Southwest and a little spiritual.

Inspiration: I am moved by beauty and always want to live in a space that becomes my sanctuary. I am inspired by simple, clean lines and pieces from my past that tell a story.

Favorite Element: Thirteen foot ceilings and my Sonos all room audio system.

Biggest Challenge: I know a place is meant to be when there aren’t many challenges that come up. If I had to find one, it would be that I don’t have any outdoor space and my kitchen is dark.

What Friends Say: When I ask them to take off their shoes when entering, they usually say “Oh that’s such a great policy. I always think about it but never do it.” Then they comment on the big windows and view of the city. Or the picture of me at five with a Raggedy Anne doll.

Biggest Embarrassment: The counters in my kitchen and bathrooms. I worked for Heath Ceramics for almost seven years and never tiled those rooms!

Proudest DIY: My wall of black & white family photos. My intention is to grow the wall as I discover more photos to add.

Biggest Indulgence: My home audio system. I love music and have it playing all the time. I have a Sonos and speakers in every room.

Best Advice: Keep it simple. Surround yourself with things you love. Create a beautiful sanctuary. If you haven’t used it or worn it in a year, get rid of it. (I need to follow this advice myself.)
