What I Love About My Small Home:
There isn't much I don't love about my home. With windows running the length of the studio, even on the rare gloomy day in Santa Barbara the space is always bright and open. I’ve also managed to make the studio feel more like a one-bedroom – having a full separate kitchen is key, and arranging the furniture to evoke different living areas means that guests don’t feel like they are intruding into the bedroom.

I've filled my house with handmade items including my headboard, bench and globe lights (all made with a little help from my handyman dad). I’ve blended my belongings with items I've collected from my travels - the Moroccan rug and hanging wedding blanket were snapped up on a trip to Africa last year, and little keepsakes from vacations/work trips to places like Paris and Tokyo make my space unique.
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
Have a few pieces that you can move around to change things up a bit. My floor plan doesn't really allow for big furniture moves, so being able to shuffle my bench, chair or plants helps freshen the space whenever it starts to feel stale.

Keep it tidy! I never leave the house without making the bed. Even the littlest effort can make the biggest difference in a teeny home.

Add some life. Plants, weekly fresh flowers from the farmer’s market and Poppy the cat make this little space a home.
